We took a train (Amtrak from Pennsylvania Station) up to Boston, and
stayed there Friday-Monday. There we saw friends, Robert and
Lois Andersen. Berit got acquainted with Lois when she was in USA in
1970.
We had been teavelling for 5 weeks, and were full of
impressions, of sights and adventures.
I Bosten we got what we needed then, a weekend in a private home by
good friends. We made walks in historic Concord andi Boston. We went
to church on Sunday. - And we had good meals, chat and relaxed.
We were welcomed by Norwegian music,
and also by food that made us feel like home.
Concord town was prosperous. There
were many shops of arts and culture.
The historic bridge in Concord; North
Bridge.
We followed a historic walk through
old Boston, - easy to find, because it was marked with red.
During the walk we met guides dressed in historic costumes that told
and dramatised the history.
Several places in Bosten there were
musicians and street entertainers, They were approved, and all were
very good.
We also had a walk down in the harbour area..
First of all the Boston trip was a
visit to good friends.
Thanks to Bob and Lois!
Bob was a clever carpenter. He had built an
addition to the house, a "forest living room". Now he was
working on a terrace.
