Late 2001 there was a new surprise! 

Justine Dahl Orme planned a DAHL FAMILY REUNON on New Zealand in 2003. She invited us to participate! My thoughts:
  • this was our first chance to a great family tour: Now we could afford it - 
  • this was our last chance to a great family tour: We might get our youths with us on such a tour. In 2003 they would be 16, 20 and 22. Soon they will leave the nest - . This was a chance to do something together..

Berit was a bit sceptical: 

  • to stay with relatives - 7th cousins - 
  • to join a family reunion, without knowing anyone beforehand

Burt Berit said YES! And I responded to the mail: Yes, we are coming!

The youths were still hesitant about taking part in a family reunion on New Zealand, even if we were related
