New York

It was a long flight. We had a transit stop in Los Angeles, and also this time security in LA gave us a 5-6 hours delay. We arrived Newark in the morning, and had a taxi to the hotel. The hotel had a central location on Manhattan, Travel Inn, 515 W 42nd Street. You might walk to Broadway, and to the harbour with sightseeing-boats. It was also possible to walk to Central Park and Empire State Building.
We stayed in New York Wednesday-Friday and then Monday-Wednesday.

The main impression in New York was the pulsating, swarming life in the streets, and the great variety of mankind. It was like a waterfall, a constant stream of impressions, sounds, colours and pictures. In the streets you might hear Musac, sirens, sellars, preachers, the subway, planes, chat, - all at the same time..

The hotel was located in the west-end of 42nd Street, in the rear on the picture. There were skyscrapers all about. To my surpise I did not notice the high houses walking the streets. I kept my eyes at the street level, to see what was there, - and that was quite a lot!
