We had left Grand Canyon and headed south

The restaurant had a huge window wall

Then we drove a mile east and walked a hiking trail.

- very steep

While Lise jumped like a gazelle -
Berit was waiting down at the bottom

Shopping in Phoenix.

In Phoenix we had to try the American way of life:
we went to a Drive-in Movie

On our way to Pinetop we dropped in at a ghost town

Cactus and flowers in the desert south of Phoenix

The desert in Arizone was at its best, green and in bloom

North-east of Phoenix we drove a narrow road,
- reminded me of Norwegian roads -

Desert landscape with beautiful rich colours

On our way to Phoenix via Payson we stopped at a bison farm

It was a new huge enterprise with a park and tourist village

The road down to Phoenix, - both lines are southbound!

We arrived Phoenix and spent a couple of hours Downtown
before we drove to the airport with our hired car

We came to Sedona, "The Most Beautiful Place in America."
The nature was real beautiful, the houses were nice,
- and the advertising boards were modest

The view was grand - and the food was good

The next day we drove up to the airport, - a good lookout point

Thrilling nature

I and Lise climbed a mountain ridge

I climbed carefully -

Then we returned to the road, and moved on to Phoenix.
We drove via Payson, crossing high altitudes down to Scotsdale

The Sunday in Phoenix we visited a Lutheran church. It was social and varied: a meal was served, and there was a traditional service in the old church and a contemporary.service in the gymnasium
